A form of activity that holds the attention and interest or gives pleasure and delight. It can be an idea or a task but is more likely to be one of the activities or events that have developed over thousands of years specifically for the purpose of keeping an audience’s attention.
Anyone can tell a story, but only great entertainers build love. And when love builds, profits follow. That’s why the best entertainment companies today don’t primarily make movies or TV shows. They don’t even mainly “tell stories”. Instead, they manage the proprieties of those stories in such a way that generates and sustains deep affinity—i.e., builds love.
