What is Entertaiment?

entertaiment

Entertaiment is all about distracting us from monotony, or stress and making life more enjoyable. It can take the form of watching movies, television shows, sports, games or even participating in fun activities like dancing, or art. These programs or activities are considered entertainment as they stimulate the brain to realease seratonin, dopamine and other chemicals which give a good feeling. Entertainment also hits on the points our minds were evolved to deeply react to. For example, murders and other social backstabbing themes.

A well-made movie, TV show or music video can be entertaining. But a great entertainer is one who can make people feel love. And the way to build love is by leveraging the power of stories. That’s why Disney, the largest entertainment company in the world, does not mainly “tell stories”. It manages the proprieties of those stories in such a way as to build and sustain deep affinity, i.e., love. This is why it remains at the top of the world in terms of revenue and profits. Every other entertainment company has a very hard time competing with it.
